Nocturne
A night room, half remembered. Figures gather in the dark on the left while warm light spills across the floor to the right. Built in broad, fast passes of the brush and left on raw canvas so the weave shows through the plum.
Up close
Thick ridges of paint, gold that catches the light, and the raw weave of the canvas showing through.
Gesture, light and color, built on decades of drawing the figure.
Natz is the abstract practice of a classically trained painter with more than twenty-five years of teaching. The works on paper are made fast and in series, often several in a day, so each one keeps the speed of the hand that made it. Every piece is signed, titled and sold with a certificate of authenticity.
